The dealer did get in contact me and I advised them that the vehicle was close to $6k over the brand new sticker price used and that maybe this was due to the chip crisis and no used cars but advised this was not for me. They did follow-up in a timely manner.

Vehicle has a warning light on to check air bag. Not sure what is going on. Dealer says he is having it checked. But when I drove by the dealership the vehicle was sitting in the same spot. Not really sure it was getting looked at.

Best-Selling Trucks for Sale in NC Under $5000 Up To $10,000
#1. Chevrolet Colorado 2007
Here is a vivid description of advice that probably came from a father when Henry Ford first started working on the assembly line: “Never buy the first year of a new model.” Though, Chevrolet hit its old Colorado design with relatively few complaints. 2015 comes with a brand new Colorado through the roof.
#2. Nissan Titan 2007
Titan to Avoid are 2004, 2005 and 2006 which had big problems with leaking rear to the point where they needed to be replaced. The 2005 model in particular had more than 450 NHTSA complaints along with a dozen of its own consumer complaints about the powertrain.
By 2007, these leakage powertrain complaints had subsided. They are only sold by a handful. However, they have one of the lowest complaint rates on trucks for sale in NC under $5000. Between 2007 and 2009 there was only one complaint from the NHTSA.
#3. Dodge Ram 1500 2007
2015 model year is definitely going to surpass the $ 10,000 mark, but if you are looking for a 2WD pickup you will likely find something in this area. Do not neglect the 2013 and 2012 models, however. The biggest complaints of these years were the connection of telephones to the UConnect system.
#4. Ford Ranger 2006
Ford is in the process of introducing an updated Ranger. You can only hope to have the kind of rabid fan base and proven reliability of the original model. From the 2009 model year, the complaints had dropped to single digits for most years. Surprisingly, there are still some really nice Rangers trucks for sale in NC under $5000, though they have been extinct from batches of new cars for years.
#5. Toyota Tundra SR5 2003
There are definitely good years and bad years for the Toyota Tundra. Several years of inadequate secondary air pumps had a black eye on the truck’s overall reliability, but after about 2009 the complaints have eased to a more reasonable level.
#6. Nissan Frontier XE 2004
This truck had been around forever are relatively unchanged, usually pretty reliable. This is the case with the Nissan Frontier, a pickup truck that was last serviced in the Jurassic Period.
#7. Ford F150 2007
Sometimes the data doesn’t tell the full story. It looks like the 2004 Ford F150 had a lot of problems and the 2007 didn’t. Most of these problems in 2004 involved non-rolling side windows, annoying but totally repairable and not a deal breaker. This much fewer complaints in 2007. It’s worth trying to see what that can do for trucks for sale in NC under $5000.
